Abstract

Education is a medium that plays a very important role in producing quality and potential human resources. Improving the quality of human resources is determined by improving the quality of students. Improving the quality of students is carried out by teachers who focus on improving the quality of learning in the classroom by being oriented to high-level skills. Quality human resources are able to make Indonesia a developed country. One indicator of a developed nation is a nation that has a high literacy culture. In an effort to achieve this, the authors designed a learning work called the SB2 Colla Method (Problem Based Learning Model Application to Improve Student Literacy). The implementation of learning using this method involves collaborating three subjects, namely Sociology, Biology, and Indonesian Language. The purpose of this paper is to apply the SB2 Colla method to improve student literacy as an application of a problem-based learning model. The implementation of this method takes place from August 19th, 2020 to September 21th, 2020. The type of research used is qualitative and the data collection technique is participatory observation. Observations in this study by observing the implementation of the SB2 Colla learning method. This method is a learning method that collaborates on Sociology, Indonesian, and Biology subjects. The results obtained are that the application of the SB2 Colla learning method as an application of problem-based learning models can improve students' literacy skills. This is evidenced by the completeness score above 80% in all assessment categories (writing, product, practice, and daily assessment) for both class X science and social studies.
