Abstract

This study aims to describe parenting activities carried out in PAUD institutions in Parung sub-district and whether parents understand multiple intelligences. From this description it will show how important the parenting program on multiple intelligences is implemented in Parung sub-district. The method used is qualitative with observation and interview data collection techniques, field study approach. Sources of data used are primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained by researchers from field observations regarding the Urgency of the Multiple Intelligences Parenting Program in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions. Parung district of a total of 71 institutions. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from written books, journals or other research articles. With data sources of student guardians in several PAUD institutions in Parung sub-district, Bogor district. The results of the research show that there are parenting activities carried out by PAUD institutions once a year, two to three times a year and some four times a year. Most of the parents were involved as participants, not involved as committee members and resource persons. Parenting is felt to be very important for parents because parents need to get insight in educating their children. For parents' understanding of multiple intelligences is still very low so that the urgency of multiple intelligence parenting in Parung sub-district is very high.
