Abstract
One of the goals of education is to implement the learning to create noble personalities. To achieve this goal,
school must create a good environment. However, sometimes the implementation of this environment does not
match student responses. There are still many student problems, including in boarding schools, one of which is
related to student self-adjustment. The purpose of this study was to see how the school climate relates to the level
of homesickness in new students. This study used a correlational quantitative research design which was attended
by 51 new SMART Ekselensia Indonesia students through purposive sampling. This research is using two
questionnaire measuring instruments adapted from the concept of homesickness theory and the concept of school
climate. Pearson correlation analysis is used to test the hypothesis. It was found that school climate had a
significant inverse relationship with the intention of the level of homesickness with a contribution of 47.6%. This
means that a positive school climate is believed to reduce the level of homesickness intentions at the school.
Further research is needed to perfect the results of this study so that it can answer the hypothesis more
comprehensively
